My piece of advice: don’t forget to live. Amidst the bustle of stressing over grades, preparing for the SAT/ACT, practicing music for orchestra or band, we sometimes forget that there’s a life outside of the academia world.
I think it’s unfair for students to choose a career track so early on. Compared to our projected life expectancy, we’ve lived only a small portion of our lives, so it’s ok not to know what to do with your life. Instead of seeking the answers, live the questions now because someday in the future, you may gradually, without noticing it, live along into the answer.
Trust that God has a plan for you even though life can be uncertain and unkind at times. “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sister, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance” (James 1:2-3). I promise that God is watching over you. Simply look at nature. If God tends to the littlest wild flowers and makes them flourish, He most certainly cares for you too.
ACC has been my anchor throughout my entire life. I would like to thank everyone that has caused me to grow spiritually and mentally. Without the ACC community, I wouldn’t be the person I am today.
